| (PLEASE READ) i am in somewhat of a predicament. as many of you know, i just completed my first engine swap in my '90 NA. everything seemed to be running fine initially (after the smoking issue worked itself out). it had a knock though, and still does. after doing some research, i thought it may be a lifter tick, so i went through a few techniques to cure this that i found. i did 2 engine flushes and ran amsoil 2000 0w-30. the knock continued.... so after more extensive research, and through the help of a few members in tech, i determined that the probable cause of my knock was a worn/broken rod bearing. this is on the engine i installed not one month ago to replace my hydrolocked one. i dont know if im up to pulling the engine again and having something else go wrong. plus, i cant afford to not have transportation to work. its extremely disheartening to find out that my car is *STILL* having problems after thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours working to get her running in my spare time. so i am sort of at a crossroads. my car needs more work other than just the rod bearings. i have a clutch system problem that i have been unable to solve for a while. this morning while driving i lost all pressure in the pedal (ive bled until blue in the face). my suspension needs an overhaul, and i had some paint damage during the swap. should i... A: keep the car, spend the extra time and cash to fix the rod bearings and hope nothing else goes wrong OR B: part out the car (there are a lot of good useable parts), and buy a NEW bike, most likely a CBR600RR or F4i. at this point im more inclined to just go with the bike. it would be new, so i wouldnt have to worry about worn parts or anything breaking (in theory.) it breaks my heart to even think about parting out my z now after having spent so much time and money on her. any ideas?
